Overview

A stripe card has two jobs: look right and carry data in exactly the format your system expects. Coercivity, track, character set and encoding rules should come from your software or equipment provider — not guesswork.

HiCo or LoCo?

HiCo (high coercivity, black stripe) resists accidental erasure and suits cards used daily. LoCo (low coercivity, usually brown) suits shorter-life or controlled uses. Your reader’s specification decides.

What to send us

  • Reader or system make and model
  • A working sample card, if you have one
  • Track and data format

FAQs

What’s the difference between HiCo and LoCo?

HiCo stripes need a stronger magnetic field to write, so they resist accidental wiping. LoCo stripes are easier to encode but less durable. Match the stripe to your reader.

Can you encode the stripe?

Yes — tell us the tracks and data format your system uses, and whether each card is unique.

Do you test the cards?

We recommend an encoded test card on your actual reader before the full run. A visual proof alone doesn’t prove compatibility.

Ready to specify it?

Send the quantity, finish and anything the card has to work with. We confirm stock, compatibility and price before anything is printed.
